Are you seeking an authentic African experience? Where you kick-start your day before the sun rises, dunking a homemade rusk into a steamy cup of coffee.

Watch as the sun rises and the bush awakens around you. Perhaps if you are lucky, see wild dogs laze under the Acacia trees and elephants leave their distinct trail as they chomp through the bush at a leisurely pace.

Steal a glance at the leopard eating its prey high up in an old Tamboti tree, zebra foraging alongside large herds of wildebeest and impala flashing their characteristic ‘M’ as they disappear into the thick bush. HOYO-HOYO SAFARI LODGE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK – WILDLIFE SAFARI

2 DAYS /2 NIGHTS

This 2-day/night (minimum) wildlife safari staying at the Hoyo-Hoyo Lodge in the ‘Mluwati Private Concession’ in the Kruger National Park gives guests the opportunity to experience an authentic African bush safari at one of the worlds premier wildlife reserves. Guests are accommodated in six circular air-conditioned suites with traditional brightly earth-coloured walls, tapered thatched roofs and folding glass doors that allow guests to fully experience the African wilderness.

WHAT TO EXPECT

If you are a keen ‘birder’ the experience of a lifetime awaits you, with hundreds of bird species that call Kruger home, over 500 species, in fact, many of which occur in the Mluwati Concession. Guests will also enjoy some of Kruger’s most spectacular landscapes and an extraordinary variety of wildlife including Africa’s Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino) within the Mluwati Concession, ensuring that each safari experience will be unique.

THE CAMP

LAST DAY  ITINERARY

After a morning game drive, it will then be time to head back to the camp to check-out and breakfast at around 9.30 am (camp check out is at 10:00 am).

Note: Itineraries are flexible and can be discussed on the day in camp, dependant on the weather,  time of the year and any additional activities that are chosen.

This is an un-escorted wildlife safari, with Hoyo-Hoyo Camp rangers undertaking daily game drives with you and other guests. GENERAL INFORMATION

HOYO-HOYO CAMP IN THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

As one of the first private concessions in the Kruger National Park, Mluwati has worked tirelessly to ensure the sustainability of this pristine wilderness that for over 100 years has been a sanctuary for over 114 reptiles, 34 amphibians and 147 mammal species, including Africa’s Big Five.

Many bird species that call the Kruger home, hundreds of species, in fact, many of which occur in the Mluwati Concession including the Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill, Crested Barbet, Lilac-breasted Roller and White-backed Vulture to name a few.

Guests will enjoy some of Kruger’s most spectacular landscapes and an extraordinary variety of wildlife, birdlife and plant life within the Mluwati Concession, ensuring that each safari experience will be unique.

Each morning and evening game drive during your stay at Hoyo-Hoyo Safari Lodge in the Kruger National Park are unique opportunities to witness first hand the daily life and death struggles of the African bush.

OTHER GENERAL SAFARI INFORMATION

  • It should be noted that the Kruger National Park is located within in a Malaria area, guests are advised to seek medical advice from your own doctor in this respect.
  • Please read our Safari Safety and Etiquette.
  • There is NO wifi access or mobile phone reception at Hoyo-Hoyo Safari Lodge due to its remoteness. Should you be in urgent need to make a call, the guides know which ‘Termite Mounds’ to stand on.

WHAT TO BRING ON SAFARI

  • Mornings and evenings in an open safari vehicle are cold to cool (even in the summer), bring a fleece and a windbreaker jacket
  • Rain jacket, hat, cap or beanie
  • Sunblock
  • Binoculars
  • Spare batteries for your camera
  • Torch
  • Camera/video camera & flash (for wildlife photography a 300 – 400mm lens is ideal but there are opportunities for wildlife images for all sizes of lenses.
